Upcycled flanneled hoodies

I saw a reel on TT that grabbed me and would not let me go, so I made upcycled flanneled hoodies.

I know “flanneled hoodie” is a word ten, but I’ve yet to come up with a better term for them.

Basically, it’s the love child of a thrifted hoodie and matching flannel. They go together quick!

These are cool! I like how it’s not just the arms that you replaced with the flannel and that you left part of the chest pocket/flaps on the top one.

They look cozy! Also love that they give you a layered look without having to deal with things actually flapping around.

great combinations!

When I was a kid in the 90s I saw a tutorial somewhere where someone combined a flannel with a denim jacket. I liked the idea but didn’t have the resources to make it.

Yours looks a lot comfier.

 ooooh this is right up my alley. I want to make one! I mostly don’t know how to sew quality wearables though. Lol.

You sewed them so well by incorporating the bottom ribbing and sleeve cuffs.

I was intimidated by the ribbing and cuffs at first, but I pinned the heck out of them the first couple of times and it all worked out. This is actually a beginner friendly project if you just tackle the ribbing head on.

This is almost like my favorite brand, Girrlscout! She designed a flannel hoodie combo last year, I believe! I passed on hers due to the color options, but this is an awesome idea! I’m already looking for flannels! :pink_heart:
