Must find a purpose for 5 discarded pairs of husband’s work pants. New, these pants are black with black stitching, now they are grey and grey. Turn them inside out and they are black with bright white stitching. I used the bottom of the legs for the bag then cut off the inside seams to add contrast to the handles. I removed the waist band then cut and repositioned so the brand logo button and original buttonhole could be used to close the bag. I replaced black stitching with bright white thread to continue the contrasting look.
I love your decision to use the inside seam for the handles, that thick double stitch is striking. You did a lovely job upcycling these pants and giving them new life!
Excellent repurpose! Jeans make such a sturdy bag!
Very cool! My kids buy so much of this brand… you could probably sell these for a decent amount!
I love a great upcycle.
Inside out! Genius! ANd you used the various pieces of the pants for the best uses in a purse’s construction.
I couldn’t come up with any ideas so I asked my husband if he thought I should do something utilitarian like the brand or go artsy contrast. He chose artsy contrast
Thank you! I have had three requests and I would consider making them out of pants they provide.
Thank You! I couldn’t think of a better closure than the original. The reverse side of the button has a logo that you can see when looking at the backside of the bag. The brand logo pocket is easily recognizable and an instant conversation starter.
I wonder how hard it would be to make them into a backpack? I see college kids carrying them and bet it would be a popular item.

Congrats on the feature! What a great idea to upcycle the jeans! Were they a bear to sew? I break needles even sewing quilting fabric!
What a cool repurpose and upcycle! The bag looks great.
Hmm…I do have a back pack pattern
Thank You!
Thanks! I used the presser foot that compresses layers and a denim needle. I did snap a needle when attempting to sew the strap to the waist band. I knew it was too many layers but tried anyway. If/when I make another I will need to shorten the decorative accent on the handle leaving fewer layers to sew the strap to the bag
