I purchased a yard of some lovely woven black and white linen way back when. I used a bit to make a journal cover but didn’t know what to do with the rest.
After I started following an embroidery designer named Kasia Jacquot, I made a crossbody bag using one of her designs, Kasia, to embellish it. She has alternative colors and uses, so I decided to try another one.
It is smaller but the perfect size for necessities.
The strap is very thin because I had to piece together the scraps of linen. But it is very long so it can be used to carry as a regular bag, around the hips, and crossbody.
I am really enjoying these slower projects that combine embroidery and sewing. My next project is going to be embroidering a top made of some more linen I have been “saving”. I blame @edel…Use the good stuff!
Your embroidery looks great and adds such a personal and beautiful touch to the bag. You are really crafting away lately! Love seeing all the things you are creating!

The bane of full retirement…I might have to get a part-time job! uh, a hard “Nope!”
Gorgeous bag! Well done! The colors all match so well too.

Somebody on FB wants to buy this purse. She is an artist herself, so she knows the time that went into it, but, I used my special linen so I am declining. However, I have known her since we were 16, so I think I know her taste well enough to make another one that will be special to her.
