Vegetable Table Runner

This is the first of many holiday gifts I’m making this year! I’ve made a table runner for my husband’s mom.

The veggies were cut from old placemats my mom had in the scrap box she gave me, machine sewed them all on, the bottom is the leftover fabric from curtains my mom made almost 20 years ago!

This project unfortunately cost literal blood and tears as I (for the first time in my life) ran my finger under my machine! No hospital visit, but it set me back about a week!

I used different stitches to try to add character to some of the vegetables

Sorry about your crafting injury, but, what a great gift! You really made it special with your free form stitching of the veggies! Also, way to upcycle!

This is beautiful and inspiring! It looks rustic and definitely gives off a specific sort of vibe. It feels really cozy and artsy and makes me want to eat a salad. Lol.

Also, your injury sounds really scary and I cringed I’m real life reading it. :sob: I hope you aren’t scarred for life, like, mentally. I feel like I would be. :neutral_face:
