Vessel Cowl

I just finished blocking the Vessel Cowl by Purl Soho and I’m in love. The yarn is from Why Knot Fibers, hand dyed in Traverse City, MI. It was a souvenir yarn from one of my visits to @sheepBlue. It is so gorgeous in this pattern!

The cowl has a cool split at the bottom to keep it cozy without adding bulk around your neck. Very cool.

I took an action shot pre-blocking because I couldn’t wait. Post-blocking I got a bit more slouch but not much, it looks pretty much the same.

This is going home with my dad today. I barely got it done in time!

I knew that yarn! The pattern shows it off beautifully

It looks great and the split at the shoulder is very clever.

Gorgeous yarn! I like the clever design. Did you extend the panels to go further down the chest? It looks so short in the pattern.

Looks like a fun and relatively easy knit as well!

I didn’t. It’s 10 inches from cast on edge. I think it must be the yarn. I def didn’t get as much ease in the circular section either. But my dad insists he likes it this way!

It is a pretty easy pattern…my only snafu was not realizing the slip stitches should be purlwise on the wrong side after the split. But I figured it out.

oh–because those are knit flat…yeah, going from round to flat or vice-versa can be confusing!

It is a great design!

It’s a dickie! My aunt loved those. Looks great, beautiful yarn choice.

Haha. Exactly.

Ha Yes, I forgot what they were called! Men used to wear them under their shirts to look like they were wearing a turtleneck sweater underneath!

That split is a great design feature! (Yes, I thought of dickies immediately, too) This looks like a great addition to a winter wardrobe.

That came out great! What an awesome way to use up a souvenir skein.

Love this color!!! And this is a very clever way to stay warmer without extra bulk.
