Vintage Bucilla “Christmas Goodies” Kit Ornaments

So I recently got a gift certificate from eBay (for being “with us since the beginning”… yeah, made me feel old!)

I used it to splurge on a vintage Bucilla kit to make felt ornaments (or as they called them on the packaging, “Jeweled Stitchery Ornaments.”)

Here is the result!

I tweaked the patterns a bit, and would tweak them even more if I ever make another set like these.

I love doing these kits. So much fun! And the vintage ones have teeny little sequins, way smaller than the usual sequins you see everywhere today.

I just discovered sewing with felt this year, and I am in lobe with it. This inspires me to try ornaments. They look so great and have so much detail. Beautifully done.

I have ALWAYS loved these kits. My mom never did any kind of crafts but when I visited my auntie she always had these for me and her daughter to do.
Yours look great

These are amazing! Adding ornaments to my list of crafts to do with my daughter. She loves making things and they would be perfect Christmas gifts for our family.

Thanks everyone! I love working with wool felt, and the older Bucilla kits typically have wool blends.

Ornaments are really fun projects for kids, you’re right! They don’t take very long, so patience doesn’t run out before they’re done. I have some wonderful memories of making ornaments with my sister when we were kids.

Those are great. I have one of their kits. Was it hard to stitch up?

These are sooooooo cute! The peppermint sticks are my fave!

They’re pretty fast and easy, especially at the speed you stitch! Everything is already marked for you: cut lines, stitch lines, etc.

What a lovely splurge! They turned out so charmingly sweet.

Really cute, I use to do these back in the day. I have a bunch of these kits that I will never get done because of my eop. My grandkids love the ones I made in the past. I have several stocking kits too. Maybe I will donate them .

Aren’t they great? I’m sorry you’re not able to do them yourself… I think it’s a lovely idea to pass them along for someone else to enjoy.

You might want to consider selling them on eBay. I can’t bring myself to pay more than about $25 - $30 for one, but when I got the $25 eBay credit, I splurged and bought this rare vintage one that was listed at around $60. I think I offered $50 and the seller accepted.

If you ever do the “Shop the Swap” (STS) swap here on Lettuce Craft, I bet people would love to trade for them.

I’m an ebay girl too. Now I have the itch to find my own vintage Bucilla kit. Love these!

Hmm shop the swap, I need to check that out. I use to sell a lot on eBay but I just don’t have the energy to deal with the work involved. I am homeschooling my granddaughter, thankfully my grandson’s school only closed a week. He is autistic high functioning with a eidetic memory. So my plates pretty full.
