Watercolor Birthday Cards for kids

These are simple watercolor paintings, made into happy birthday cards for kids (I cut out folding cards from watercolor paper and painted on the front).
I will do some more soon, since there’s more kid’s birthdays coming up in our neighborhood.

The scanned colors are a bit off. The blue is darker in real life.

I hope you like them.

Lovely color blend inside the numbers.

Great cards! The colors are very lively, and if I’m not mistaken kids those ages already know numbers and their age number is very important to them.

These are so cute! (and I’m pretty sure blue/orange(ish) is my favorite color combo)

I made two more today (with a 5 and an 8), in the same color scheme.

These are great! The kids will love them! Isn’t it funny how nobody wants a card that says, “59” or something…?

Thanks, @Tapestry and @Bunny1kenobi !

We had to carefully explain to our daughter, when she was a young teenager, that adults no longer want birthday cards with their age on them, even if she had handmade them beautifully, lol.

I really like the boldness of the design, both in color (I love orange and blue together), and the size of the number. The white outline does a great job of framing the number without chopping up the design, too!

Thank you, @craftADDchick !

I used a masking pen for the outlines of the numbers.

I didn’t know such a thing existed! Is that just like masking fluid in a pen form? That would be easier to apply than using a brush!

Yep, it’s a marker, with masking fluid.
The one I used is called Zig masking writer 2.0.
It comes with a spare tip, since they tend to dry out after a while.
