"we suck at birdwatching, on Salisbury plain"

In 2015 D and I completed our first local shop hop. The theme was blue and white. And me, not being one who loves rules, made an improv quilt from the fabrics we collected instead of following the patterns. For reasons that I don’t quite remember now. I embroided three phrases as well.

We suck at birdwatching.
Moo means Moo
The Lugtread is a lie

In 2025 we nipped across the pond to Southern England for a week. Rambling and exploring we fell in love with Salisbury and the only souvenir I bought was a charm pack D fell in love with.

Unintentionally but fortuitously these came out pretty close to the same size so we have a double sided new quilt for the car. Just in time for winter

I love both sides of this! The blue side feel energetic and the charm pack side feels soothing, yet upbeat.

A double sided quilt! Genius!! You did such a lovely job, as always!

And I can’t help but think that a person could really create some interesting quilts doing this.

Like for my granddaughter- Barbie theme on one side and cats on the other….

Or hero on one side, villain on the other. OR…. Halloween on one side, Christmas on the other…. I could keep going, but I’m LOVING this concept!

I’m currently working a Halloween/Christmas one.

Luckily Nightmare before Christmas fabrics bridge the gap and get to appear on both sides.
