Winter Page for Antique Typewriter Display - Holiday Spectacular Challenge 2025

TheMisterT has his great- or great-great aunt’s Underwood No. 5 typewriter and even though it’s in rough shape and not functional, it’s still super cool looking. We haven’t had a place to display it, but I think we will soon, so I wanted to make seasonal papers to install in it.

For now it is sitting on a specially purchased cutting board (thanks Ross!) on top of our glass-topped coffee table in the living room.

I stamped a full “sheet” of Stampers Anonymous stamps on it all at once, then used die cuts to frame it. A 3 different evergreen pieces in a 1-2 colors each. I added juniper-like berries and jingle bells to the swags and a couple of big pine cones in the corner.

The base paper is a cream, speckled printer paper which couldn’t really support all the decorations and the typewriter doesn’t have a paper support, so I used spray adhesive to mount it to a piece of white cardstock.

It still wasn’t quite as upright as I would like, so I used some wood shims, cut to size, to hold it up.

I’m looking forward to making more of these for other holidays and seasons!

You could display menus for a dinner party or birthday greetings! The ideas are endless! Maybe you could find some old typewriter fonts to use as well.

Very cool looking!

Thanks, friends!

@AIMR My thoughts, exactly. Everything from Letters to Santa to “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” over and over! Love letters! Lists! Just decorated papers of all sorts!
