Check in time!!! What book are you reading now?
I’m listening to two- I go back and forth. I lose interest quickly or anticipate something bad happening in the story and try to avoid it. Lol
An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green. YA book.
And The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley. Murder Mystery
As far as physical books, I’ve been diving into some urban sketch technique books. I’m obsessed with figuring out my own style.
Autumn Winters (Realm Watchers #1) by J.S. Malcom. I finished my last one and wasn’t near wifi so I picked a random book I had already on my Kindle. It takes place in my city and so far is really good!
I’m just finishing TO CATCH A STORM by Mindy Mejia. It’s a contemporary mystery and not bad.
I just finished a cozy mystery called Peppermint barked. It was such a guilty pleasure.
I just finished Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan. First in The Powder Mage Trilogy. It takes place in a Napoleonic-type setting, but with magic. Such a unique framework for magic- not just the setting, but the types of magic and how they are used. Hoping Santa brings me the rest of the series, as my oldest is hinting👌
I am on round three of a super simple craft that is NOT working out. It’s driving me bonkers. At this point, it’s not even really worth it, but I am determined.
Finishing up and hope to send out soon! Maybe after the holiday though.
Check in time!!! How are you doing? How is the crafting going?
I’m hopimg for craft time on Thursday and Friday. We had a family emegency this weekend that upended the whole week so still finding my feet.
My mother-in-law was hospitalized with covid and dementia so Thanksgiving travel was canceled and now I’m solo parenting so my husband can be with his family.
Oh, Jenn! I’m so sorry for the family difficulties! How stressful.
I’m working away on attempt #3 of my project. It’s not turning out as I envisioned but that said, it seems that this might be the winning version.
I hope things settle down soon @Tapestry .
My craft items went super wonky and nothing seems to be working out as planned. Oh well. Im trying to fix it.
Sorry to hear that @Tapestry! I hope she’s doing ok and gets the help she needs to feel better.
Hoping to send this weekend or early next week. Haven’t decided on books yet but have my partners list and will decide soon. Sending ebooks makes it really easy!
Thank you, @Bunny1kenobi, @gozer, @curiousfae. She should be released from the hospital soon and moving to a special nursing home for dementia support.
Happy Thanksgiving! Just checking in
I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! My SIL pulls out pretty much every stop when she entertains, even if it’s just family!
She’s famous for pre-gaming! The sausage roses are over the top! For dinner we had ham AND turkey plus about a dozen side dishes (actually not exaggerating that- and one of those featured a candle made from garlic rosemary butter). And I counted 7 desserts.
That spread looks amazing @Bunny1kenobi !
After several failed attempts, i did something im happy with.
Holy moly! What feast! Everything looks amazing.
@Tapestry I hope things are looking up for you and your family.
What a feast!!!
I have my crafting almost done, now I just need to put everything together. Thank goodness for the long weekend.
Thanks! My husband is back home so we’re grateful for that.
