World Map Shirt

Wearable toile, testing out a new (to me) pattern.

This fabric is old. A friend was cleaning out her mother’s fabric stash and offered it to me. Possibly VIP from Cranston Print Works.

There were some faded spots I had to work around. The design is printed a bit off grain, so (HORRORS!) not all of the longitude and latitude lines match at the seams. It pains me. Also, that diagonal wrinkle on my right shoulder. What’s that doing there?
Success at not getting something awkward on the boob!

Pattern: New Look S0803/6374 with re-drafted collar band (because I altered the neckline) and sleeve finishing from…I dunno, some other pattern I have with cuffs. I shortened the front placket, and the length of the shirt does not match any of the hem choices offered by the pattern. (I used my favorite length.)

This is sweet!! I like the orange and black fish on the placket. If you keep your arms down, no one will see the unmatched lines

I like the shark infested center. Also the word “earth” just stitting there at the bottom of the placket.

YEY for a wearable muslin! This print seems great for wearing in a school library, too.
It sounds like you’re happy with your modifications; I’m looking forward to seeing the “real” shirt(s) that follow!

Looks pretty darn perfect to me! What an awesome job matching up the fabric pattern and the overall look is great.

You’re almost like a real life Ms. Frizzle! I love all of these cool themes you wear for school. And this fabric is definitely awesome in spite of its flaws!

I agree with @Bunny1kenobi. You are Ms. Frizzle.

Very fun! I love that collar style. I would have noticed no imperfections if you hadn’t pointed them out. Love hearing about your favorite parts!

I love it!

Too cute! I like the fabric, but I really like that pattern.

I love this! The fabric is amazing!
