You're not yourself when you're hungry, have a snickers-ish

I LOVED snickers bars when I was young. But a re surfaced nut protein trigger in my late teens means I’ve been weirdly most nut (lentil and legume) free since I was 20. I can consume almonds cashews and pistachios :person_shrugging:

Any way. I found this Homemade Snickers Bars — JennyBlogs and used it as a jumping off point for snickers I can eat.

Everywhere it called for peanut butter I used almond. In the peanut layer I used a mix of chopped almonds and cashews (cause I had them laying around)

This is the second time I’ve made this and as written I found the layers would separate between nougat, but and caramel, so I mixed some of the nuts into the nougat, put some on top and mixed the rest into the caramel layer and have had no problems.

And since it was Christmas and I was fanceh. The top is a mix of dark and milk chocolate.

I also developed a weird nut allergy in my 20’s. I still can’t eat macadamia or hazelnut but I eat many others. Just added pecans into to mix and yay.

I will try this recipe.

This bar is gorgeous! A custom, housemade snickers would be a very special inclusion on a holiday treat gift plate.

Anyway, that hamster just bolted into a fast paced sprint upon his wheel…Translation: My mind has gone into overdrive over what I could make…Ooooooh!

This looks so scrumptious. I think the almond version sounds better than the peanut butter.
