I did a personal Swap with @spaceradish awhile ago and I finally have time to post the doll I made her. And let me say this is probably the most intricate doll I’ve made so far! I’m so proud of her. I tried several new things that worked out really well.
The protruding bone is something new this time around. All my dolls have a floral wire skeleton. I intentionally cut the hand off one of the arms to expose the wire, which I then looped in a circle. I went in and layered hot glue, as well as making the bone shape with the hot glue. Once it cooled I painted it white with some splattering of red of course.
This was also something new that worked out really well! The brain coming out of her head just looks so awesome! (Not something I thought I’d ever say, but here we are) I used hot glue to seal the brain together instead of an applique stitch, which gave it a much cleaner look overall.
The stitching on the face took me forever to get right. The idea was to make it look like part of her face was missing and exposing her teeth underneath. The teeth are all satin stitches and took FOREVER. I’m super happy with the outcome though.

You really did a great job on the facial expression and details!
I love the Noialand patterns and have several, but haven’t tried to make anything on my own yet. This is very inspiring. Thanks for the process pictures. Breaking it down in steps makes it a lot less intimidating to try!
I highly recommend her patterns. The patterns are well made with easy to follow instructions, and pictures to help explain steps.
Altering them is my favorite craft to do, as seen with this zombie girl. (Altered from her fox girl doll btw)

I like buying patterns and following them to learn the basics but I haven’t ventured into making anything on my own. I probably have six or more patterns of hers that I haven’t even started yet. I also think I would like the dolls more since they are posable.
Maybe you could make it a goal for 2026 to make one of her patterns.
I’ve been wanting to try one of her felt play books
I do a.lot of things differently than the way she instructs. An example would be that she uses pipe cleaners where I use floral wire. I think her dolls are made for children to play with, but mine are more art doll type.
I hope you make one of her her dolls. Gingermelon on Etsy also has some lovely felt doll patterns.
