2 Mini Assemblages

I made 2 ATCs recently for the Non-Paper ATC Swap. You should check out the gallery, everyone was so creative!

My initial plan was to work in clay but after a couple of mishaps I changed gears and made assemblages

And I remembered to take progress shots

Here’s everything adhered to the substrate
I usually tend to have the random bits and bobs more concentrated in the lower right area and then spread things out more toward the upper left

The moon is clay. The only piece that survived.

Normally I spray paint everything in matte black but I wanted to go lighter and brighter and used white

Then it’s just many many layers of paint. I usually do a couple of thin layers if the bases is white then move to dry brushing.

If I spray paint in black and just want to highlight I skip directly to dry brushing.

I also tend to make the lower right darker in color and go lighter toward the upper left.

The last couple of layers are silver acrylic and iridescent medium

I have the darker one. It is really cool and has a shimmer to it as well!

I love seeing them before you paint them. It’s amazing the transformation when they’re painted. Having an eye for layout when you have to ignore the color must be hard!

These are fabulous! I really like how much thought you’ve put into composition and depth of colour.
