My iron exploded last night (well, that might be a bit of an exaggeration but there was a pop and blue sparks) so no sewing for me for a while! Have ordered a nearly exact duplicate but it will be a while before it comes in.
@Trillian Oh, dear! I’m glad no one other than the iron was hurt!
I destashed a bunch of astroturf and some nylon gingham this week! As well as buying and using every inch of cotton print gingham so as to it never enters stash, not even a little! WOO!
September
Color: Metallics
Pattern: Celestial
For: Your Work Space.
Challenge: Make a lot of one single thing. It’s always fun to see how the same item looks made with different colors/patterns/materials. And if you squirrel them away now they’ll be ready for gift giving when the end-of-the-year crunch time comes!
Dare one ask what purpose these astro-turf tables will be put to?
HA! They have their own post; we hosted TheMisterT’s work team for a BBQ and needed the table space. They worked out very well, were quite comfortable and the turf makes the tables feel not-at-all like a plastic topped folding table.
Hahaha, my next project is definitely going to be “a lot of a single thing”. The timing is too perfect
So is mine! A few swaps I am in also require multiple items…lol…
I guess I managed a lot of single thing with all the faux postage stamp embellishments I made with my Halloween cardstock stash!
So sweet! I particularly like the top right one.
Time for babbling about stash used up during July & August - 7 sticker sheets, 5 sticker packs, 1 vinyl sticker, 1 roll of washi tape, 2 ink cartridges, a pad of post-it notes, and nearly a yard and a half of fabric (5 fabrics used up). And I bought 9 A6 dot grid notebooks that I’d been questing for since May 2021 - whoops! Two steps forward, one step back.
You wild woman, you!
What an emotional rollercoaster! - for a minute there, I was worried you wouldn’t have enough good boxes, and I would have to mail you some! so relieved …
Nobody gets me like y’all get me!
Whew! So glad you saved those “really good” ones!
Gave me a panic attack too, whew you did save some from distruction.
NOBODY PANIC! My coworker serendipitously dropped this most excellent box off at my desk just yesterday.
The universe provides…
I’m back on the destashing track! I found a beautiful new pattern called the Heirloom Quilt Cardigan that is going to be fantastic for using up scraps and random 1 skeins I’ve picked up. Here are a few sample blocks I’ve made to test out colors and figure out what needle size I want to use…I think the yarns in the picture are the ones I’m set on for my colorways.
Oh gosh, that is SO pretty. Rob wants to learn to knit with me this winter! Maybe between the two of us we’ll end up with a whole entire sweater one of these days
