Next set is horror theme.
Unfortunately I do not have ANY shades of gray for the knife blade, so I’ll have to make a stop today & pick some up.

Do I feel a little bad that I used a handprint pattern that was supposed to be cute and baby-themed for my bloody handprint? A little

They turned out nicely! I have never seen such tiny hoops before. How are they finished on the back?

They come with a solid disc the same size as the hoop. I glued it on.

Oct 1 is tomorrow! Just a reminder, I will hold our quarterly drawing tomorrow where one lucky stitcher will win a $25 gift card (Amazon or Etsy - winner’s choice). If you have a qualifying stitch, don’t hesitate - post it today!

Here we are! I don’t know about you, but October is the official start of holiday season in my house. Decorations are up and excitement is high. Let’s translate that to some stitchy momentum!

Since we did not reach our threshold for the drawing last quarter, I am counting all stitches from way back in April for this quarter’s drawing. @Abbeeroad, @jemimah, @wittychild, @Dooney, @jellybean, and @Immaculata all earned entries in the drawing! Woohoo! And the winner is…

@Immaculata!!! Congratulations! I’ll send you a PM about your prize! :tada:

For the next three months we will have random holiday themes. Our themes for October are:

:jack_o_lantern: In addition, you may use Halloween as your theme.

We will be taking a break from BINGO for the quarter. We can revisit the idea for the new year if folks are interested.

Happy stitching! :sewing_needle:

Yayyy!! Thanks! I was just thinking it was a shame I didn’t get around to finishing anything this month, but how cool is it to win something anyway  Hopefully I’ll get around to stitching something this month, the themes are great.

I was at a few galleries today in Dublin. This woman was exhibiting in a major gallery. Her painting was incredible and she also had a wall of embroidery hoops. Her themes are on women’s reproductive rights in Ireland. Jennifer Trouton if anyone is on Insta.

This was half of the artwork showing the embroidery.

This is her painting in case you’re interested, this was about 4’6

I didn’t know if I was going to get the second one done, but I made it!

Presenting orange:

And bones:

Both are Satsuma Street kits from her 2022 Halloween collection - I got all 4 as a gift and these are my 2nd and 3rd finishes. Her designs are always so bright and fun!

They’re stitched on black 14-count perforated paper, and backed with glittery black felt.

Thanks for looking!

Nobody’s going to call me out on the fact that we are 2 weeks into December and I haven’t posted themes yet?!? Lol…clearly, time has gotten away from me!

Alternative theme is HOLIDAY - whatever that means to you!
