3D Houseplant ATC

I made this “popcorn” houseplant card for the ongoing atc swap. The background was a masterboard background I received in a swap, the butterfly is a geekgirl doodad, and I made the houseplant “popcorn” from dyed napkins @LadybugsAndBees sent me in a swap. I glued them down with dimensional modge podge. I think it is a fun and different technique!

oh you are going to have to explain this 3-D technique or provide a link! It is pretty cool looking

I just rolled small bits of the napkin up into a ball then stuck to the atc with a glue stick. I then put the dimensional glue on top to hold it in place.

I will have to look up dimensional glue…is it really thick clear stuff? I have something called Diamond Glaze…is it the same thing?

I used Mod Podge Dimensional Magic. I heard about it in the paper crafting boards somewhere and picked it up several months ago from Hobby Lobby.

This is so cute! I love the notion of making this 3-D (two dimensions are rarely enough to convey plants, methinks), and all the variation in the dye is such a cool way to give it a natural feel.
