Watercolor & embroidery hoopla - summer in Germany

For the summer in Europe swap we decided that each partner would create a small item that represents summer in their country. I took the chance to make a beach scene embroidered over a watercolor background. Something I wanted to try for a long time. [IMG_8285] What you see here is a Strandkorb, a type of beach chair that crowds every German beach from April to October and is mostly unknown outside of Germany. It’s nice and cozy to sit in and provides some protection from the sun or the wind…

It was my favorite craft in a long time. I definitely need to do more embroidery.
