My partner in the summer in Europe swap received and I just posted the hoopla I made.
It was my favorite craft in a long time. I definitely need to do more embroidery.

Well, collage night definitely was needed…these are a bit scary and angry while still being interesting and fun to look at. Hope you had fun…I would like this better than kickboxing…lol.

Maybe I should do a collage night. 
I used to hate pink too. I hated it because it’s considered to be feminine. And I hated being the false and prejudiced concept of a female. Now, I find it empowering. I revel in my feminine side. Pink has become rebellious for me in the same way black used to be. I still dress mostly gothic but I make lots of pink things and enjoy pink. Girly things are now rebellious for me. I wear skirts with cute little stuffed animal prints and I make sparkly cutesy stuff all the time. Scary+cute? My favorite. So pink is almost my favorite in terms of that but in terms of me just looking at colors I’m really drawn to neon green or bright greens lately. My favorite color used to be super bright purple. It’s only recently become bright green. Though it’s definitely not a color I could wear. I don’t generally feel that bright green goes super well with a peachy skin-tone and blonde hair.
As for making things the wrong color? Oh no. Generally it gets scrapped or I have to paint over it or something. 
I don’t like to think about it!!!
My least favorite color is probably yellow but they all have their merits in the right spot. Orange can look super awful too but my house has become very orange and olive green in tone due to the 70s vibes. So obviously I like orange? And if I were in an all lemon-yellow room I would be very happy. But I rarely make anything yellow.
I am trying very hard to get myself pumped up to learn to crochet for my 50 projects this year. It’s really daunting! My other to-do is paint my record album cabinet. I painted one side in orange house paint and it dried alllll wrong. I should have just spray painted it. So it’s daunting because I’m going to need to sand it or something? Unfortunately this thing has a lattice-style to it so it’s not going to be easy.

Yes, I love working with bright fun colors when I craft, especially if the project is not for me, since it gives me the freedom not to worry about whether I’ll actually wear said project or not. When I have to work with a drab sad color, I just push through - hopefully the pattern is interesting enough to keep me engaged through the project, or the end goal of a nice present for someone in my life that I care about who will enjoy the color I’m working with.
Right now, my favorite colors to work with are wild and wacky, neons and rainbows, and whatnot. This doesn’t always translate to something I feel ok actually wearing in my day-to-day, but the dopamine burst of working with such happy colors is great. Least favorite color…I can think of a sad drab brown yarn in my stash that I tried overdying black but didn’t really work out. It’ll probably end up mixed in some scrappy future project so it can be a quiet supporting character to some other funky yarns.

Sad browns and dull grays seem to be the colors of choice by the men in the homeless shelter. I am guessing that they don’t stand out and dirt doesn’t show. It makes me sad making these hats, but knowing that they will help someone keep a bit warmer helps.

I’m nearly always making something for a specific person so I either take orders or choose their favorites. I don’t have any real problem working with any color, they don’t slow me down or speed me up. I procrastinate them all without bias haha

I would have thought that these squares (and a couple of blankets I’ve already put together) would be a great way to work through my yarn stash, but I’ve still got so much of these pastels left…

Week 19 - My favorite color is green, least favorite is yellow, but all colors are good if I’m not wearing them. 
I finished a big project & now it’s time to make dinosaurs for summer reading!

My absolute favorites is turquoise and I use all shades of turquoise and teal in a lot of crafts I make. There aren’t any colors that I dislike but the color schemes in my wardrobe are limited to turquoise, teal, navy, gray and pink. When sewing for myself there’s always at least one of these colors present.
And fitting for your question: the last time I went to the fabric store my man convinced me to buy this fabric:
I told him it’s not a color that I wear (ok he knows that, so the argument was pointless), but he said he’d really love to see me wearing a dress in that fabric. So I agreed that if I’m able to design and sew a dress that I like before the next formal event in November I’ll do it.

Now I’m wondering if I could add a pink lining that would show along the neckline and the slit.

- Weaving - Tea Towels for Brahmi
There are some adjustments to this draft yet to do before the tea towels will fully agree with me. Moving forward, the fibonacci sequence will be respected. The 45" Mira will definitely be used to create larger cloths (not a huge bother, as I was aware a 15" loom would limit size and this project’s purpose was nothing more than a trial). While I quite like the overall effect doubling 2/8 yarns in different colours offers, I’ll be investing some focus into colour theory (in my defense, I only have so many options on hand at the moment - I may have placed an order last night!)
Still, someone will be gifted these for Christmas.
Just some snipping and tying of loose ends left.

I finished two more raised garden beds.
With that my vegetable garden is complete. I know it’s rather late in the year but I hope I can still plant some tomatoes and cucumbers.

- Crochet - Mixed Yarn Basket
My daughter expressed interest in learning to crochet last week and while going through my yarn stash, I decided to use some of the remnants for a project of my own (I loved the baskets posted on this site).
I HDCed the side rounds to be quicker about it. Is this what everyone else does, or are SCs better? Mine seems a bit flimsy on the sides so I may switch to SC next time.
This project definitely inspired me to sort through all the yarn bins, untangle the messes, and frog the started projects that I know I’ll never get to finishing.

@MistressJennie , @marionberries and I seem to be addicted to using our random yarns to make these baskets!
I do a SC in the back loop only when I start my sides. If the yarn is not super thick and sturdy, I do the Yarn Under, Yarn over x-stitch to make a very tight SC to make the thing sturdier.
I like the colors and each basket is unique because you can never really get the same mix.
Great job…and learning crochet is a lifelong skill that will bring your daughter joy.
