I have been putting away a few things at a time in my craft room, but I think I need to take a “big bite” of that process.

Finally, finally finished re-jarring the spices. Getting adjusted to living more rurally where we can’t quickly nip out to restock, I switched out the most used spices to larger jars & removed one of the 3 magnet boards. Now I need to figure out what to do with it.

Labelled with sharpie marker on the sides & bottom of the jars. It stays on until scrubbed off.

So neat and tidy and functional!! I spent 20 minutes looking for a spice my husband needed that is used rarely (ground sassafras or filet). I need to organize his spices for him!

I have been staring at the red and tan yarn and pondering its future and, if I am honest, I kind of want to just give it away.
It doesn’t say how many yards there is in a skein, I have other projects that I actually want to make, my yarn cabinet is a mess with more yarn that can comfortably fit… things to think about.

You aren’t obligated to keep something that doesn’t spark your creative juices. Send it to a new home!

I like how you think. Once we hit a certain age, which I am several years hence, I think we need to stop guilt hobbying and keep just the things that we really want to spend our time and energy on. Off it goes to seek its
fortunes elsewhere.
Thanks!

You are wise beyond your years! I am ditching a lot of things, supplies, WIPS, clothes, fabric, etc. that just don’t spark that happy crafting mojo. I know I will always need to mend things or make certain utilitarian things, but I am done with crafting to just use up something. It should be opposite…see something I love to make, use what I have or else get what I need. My stash will be things I love.

Good for you!!

Bag of too small fabric scraps that will be put out in the trash…I still have plenty…but I don’t need these tiny pieces that really don’t fit what I want to make.

(Don’t let Magpie see this bag! She’ll be clutching pearls and sneaking across the border haha)

Good for you! Sometimes we have to cull the herd to keep it healthy. :thread::sewing_needle::heart:

I felt like I had to tell her so I told her through Zoom. She held it together quite well!

Hah– yes, I immediately started thinking “but that swirly orange! & the colored squares, and… !!” :woman_facepalming:

lol–after I posted the pic, I pulled out the swirly orange and four more pieces…but, I then closed the bag and took it to the garage…

Did you make the stickers for your spices on the rack? They look so uniform and pretty.

Most of ours have handwritten labels on the edge of the lids so we can see them when they are standing up. My husband keeps the mason jars of spices up on the second shelf. He knows how to use those as they are for more specialty foods.

I think my favorite of the often-used ones is cumin, although I like the pronunciation “kyoomin” better than “coomin.”

Week 6:

  • Rebind (properly bind) the Quiltalong prize where the binding got away from me :check_mark:
  • Use Silhouette machine to cut out HTV for medium prize pack prize
  • Embroider something

Finished the World’s Simplest Mittens!

This picture shows a more accurate color. This electric red-orange is impossible to capture.

Both mitts have a small finger hole so I can still use my cell phone lol.
