50 Projects or Bust! 2025

I did get a laser cutter last year and haven’t really used it for anything besides engraving mugs for the brewery I do some side work for, but I did just come up with an idea for something with it! I’m going to work on a prototype soon!

Yay! I hope you have fun and the prototype goes well (and opens up a whole new realm of creativity!).

I’ve wanted a laser cutter forever and I got one this past Christmas!! I’ve been busy working in other projects, but I’m excited to get working with my new laser soon! I’ve seen so many fun designs on Etsy that I’d love to make.

Updated my list to include the rest of my finished crochet projects from last month!

There were a couple non-crochet projects, but they’re swap items that haven’t arrived yet.

Ohh if you come across any cool quilting related projects, let me know. I’ve access to a laser cutter at work

Are you looking at my computer search history??? Lol, I’ve spent quite a bit of time looking up quilty laser projects. I’ve come across a few quilt block ornaments or barn star blocks, but that seems to mostly be the extent of it.

One type of project that I came across that I’m looking forward to trying is wood embroidery. I’ve found some patterns I like at this Etsy shop.

I love the colors!

I’ve finally added my WIPGOs to my tracker. I did one that is just to get me motivated to finish my scrapbook, and one with a mix of WIPs and planned projects. I’m hoping this works to motivate me!

Adorable!! Look at that little face!!

So cute :heart_eyes_cat:

1st finish of the year:

I bought 2 of these tiny cross stitches many years ago because I like VW campers. Unfortunately, I don’t own one!!

They have been in the waiting bucket forever, mostly because I don’t like doing cross stitch it takes forever!!

1 down, 1 to go!!

Aww that’s wonderful!
My SO has a VW camper from the 90s and it’s my absolute favorite car. Unfortunately it will be handed down to his daughter when she starts college this summer. But I think it’s an amazing car to start your independent life with.

I’m adding these as three seperate projects on my list. They were done in sequence to avoid having to keep washing my glue brush and so I could cut all the HTV for the spine at once, but are otherwise unrelated.

I think we all need one of these guys :joy:

Hypothetically speaking, say someone has decided they’re no longer interested in completing a project on their card (in a square that has not been called yet, if that matters. Hypothetically.). Is it okay to replace projects?

Yes, you can change projects in any square as long as you don’t change a called number.

We all change our minds. I am also going to be changing to two numbers per week as I want to give everyone a chance to win a prize!

You can have as many cards as you want. I haven’t quite figured out how someone can add a card at any time because 4 numbers have already been called so it wouldn’t be fair to give those as freebies.

I was thinking on this and I think that a randomizer would help here. This site lets you put in your bingo prompts, then generates a random bingo card with them (it’s the site we’re using for the Quiltalong bingo cards). Another way to achieve a similar result would be to use something like the the wheel of names. A player could then create a card that has their choices already input for the first two bingo calls, but then use the randomizing wheel to go through and fill in the rest of the bingo spaces.

This wouldn’t be a perfect solution, but one option for that situation might be to add a project post requirement. People who are joining late/adding cards and want to claim previously called numbers toward a bingo have to create a project post on LC for those projects. It doesn’t fully address the fairness issue but does create an extra layer of effort that might discourage anyone just trying to game the system.

(Just to be clear, I’m not suggesting a posting rule across the board. It would only apply to projects added to previously called numbers.)

You could also do it in rounds. Once you start a game no new cards can be added until you clear off the card by getting a winner on Full Card (or whatever you decide is “done.” Then you can put out a call for new players/cards/clear your card and start over. But I do like a “make a dedicated post” option, too, as it benefits LC.

If the new card/people thing gets sorted out, I’d love to join. Might be the kick in the butt I need to finish some family craft projects.
