50 Projects or Bust! 2025

Placeholder pic until I find a better one

Yes, it is time to think about all the projects you didn’t get done in prior years and about all the new project ideas you have collected so far!

Make a list (or not) and see how far you get. Maybe you have a huge project that needs to be broken down into smaller pieces. Maybe you want to make 50 washcloths. This is your list so do it so it works for you. The only requirement is that WE all want to see and maybe get some ideas as well.

I looked over last year’s list and it was dismal compared to prior years, but life was not great for me last year. Things happen but we adjust and move on. 2025…I say it each year, but this is going to be a great year for projects!

If you want to participate in WIPGO, complete with prizes, here are the rules:

  1. Make a grid of 25 blocks. Across the top will be WIPGO and down the side, 1-5. You can make the middle free or use it.
  2. Fill spaces with WIPS, new projects, combo, etc.
  3. Post your grid in your reserved space.
  4. Work on the monthly “bingo” numbers chosen or work ahead or on multiples, but only color or cross off those that are completed AND have been called for “bingo”.
  5. There can be multiple winners. You win when you have a straight line vertically, horizontally, diagonally, or 4 corners.
  6. Prizes will be based on the number of winners. The more winners, the smaller the prize, ut still, a good one!
  7. You can play more than one “card” and win more than once.
  8. This is for fun, so don’t stress out over it!

You all gave me WIPGO FOMO, so here we go. I don’t have a ton of WIPs, so most of mine are more works in the contemplation stage/goals this will make me more accountable for. (And @AIMR, if that’s not really in the spirit of the challenge, I’m happy to play along without competing.) Here’s my hastily cobbled together card that I’ll upgrade later.

Thank you for creating this accountability! I do enjoy having a bunch of numbers to share at the end of the year and one of them are how many craft projects I have completed. Even though I didn’t hit fifty last year, I was still very productive. I’ll move my lists over to here when I’m on my laptop. Ideas and WIPs, wow.

I have given up on to-do lists and instead am just going to list what I finished.

  1. Jan 1st: Stashbusting blue socks
  2. Jan 2nd: 7 wash mitts from scraps
  3. Jan 3d: Unbleached cotton bread bag
  4. Jan 5: Halloween quilt top
  5. Jan. 12: Hide and seek quilt top

A lot of people like to just list what they finish.

I make a lot of things off my list and often abandon things on my original list as well.

Fabulous way to start the NY!

I am going to join

Saving my spot here! I need to do an inventory of my supplies to start assigning projects to stash bust.

My current hangovers from 2024 are:

  • Sophie Shawl - Opposites attract KAL (waiting for my skein of yarn to be delivered to finish)
  • Labrador pyjamas - Shorts are done, need to finish the top
  • Bunny quilt - Threads to be tied off and binding to be done
  • Gingham quilt - Quilt top done and rest to be finished
  • Red & White striped sweater
  • Sunflower crochet jacket (halfway through the squares)
  • Living edge coffee table (need to add resin, sand (again) and attach legs)
  • Simplicity sewing pattern cross stitch (70% completed)
  • Mood paper bag shorts (Sewed one of the pockets on incorrectly, need to unpick and resew)
  • Crocheted baby blanket (just need to back it with flannel)

Supplies to hand, but haven’t started:

  • Sophie Shawl x 2
  • Simplicity 8294 x 2 (work dresses)
  • Knot & Thread duffle bag

Edited to add: I have a lot of crafting books, I would like to utilise them this year!

Completed Projects:

  1. Step by Step Sweater

A new year seems like a good time to join a new craftalong!

WIPGO sounded like fun, so I made a bingo sheet, adding WIPs and projects from my things-to-make list.

@edel asked if I would combine this thread with a WIPGO…I can!

If you want to join in, do a grid and label across the top WIPGO and down the side 1-5. I will call out two numbers randomly for you to work on. You have to finish them to mark them off for the “BINGO”. If you want to do random projects or work on several at a time, that is fine as well, but you can’t cross them off until they are done and the numbers have to be called.

I’ll start January with G-2 and W-5.

A “bingo” will be a straight line horizontal, vertical or diagonal. Or, if you get all 4 corners.

There can be multiple winners and you can play as many cards as you like! The projects can be all wips, all new, or a mix…however you want it. You must post your grids to play and I will keep track of any players. You also have to post the completed items here!

You can check the numbers, etc. Here

Edited to add:

If you are just joining and starting your grid, yes, you can put a finished in 2025 project in those numbers to get a jump start.
