A Portrait For Happy

A friend of mine is moving back home to Romania in a month or so. I wanted to make something special for her before she leaves and knowing how much she loves her fur baby, Happy, I settled on a portrait of that handsome fellow. For some godforsaken reason I chose to work in acrylics, which is not my preferred medium. Maybe because it seems more portrait-y and I don’t do oils? Who knows. I’m reasonably happy with the results.

I used a canvas I’d already prepped with a ton of texture. Not sure that was the right choice.
