Back in February I posted my The “Mama, I love love” Heartsy Quilt. The pattern has you stitch the bottom of the heart points by snowballing the corners, then cutting off the excess fabric. This makes the blocks easy to sew, but results in cutting off huge chunks. So while I was stitching those parts, I added a second row of stitches so that when I cut off the excess, I would get a spare 3.5” Half Square Triangle. I put them together in the January Block of the Month pattern from the 2026 Quiltalong. Since then it’s been sitting on my desk, waiting to be turned into something. I finally got around to quilting and binding it to make a wall quilt for Ada’s room. I added triangle pockets to the back to hang it. It measures 18” square. I’m hoping we can hang it up over her bed this weekend.
Finally hung it up!
