Air Dry Clay Ornaments - Holiday Spectacular Entry 2025

I really wish I had gotten a better shot of these, before they were given away as gifts. I bought a huge tub of air dry clay to use in the Wizard’s Staff that I made my husband for Halloween. I really wanted to use some up before it dries out, so Ada and I had a crafternoon date to make ornaments. I rolled it out, then used stamps to give it texture, and cut out shapes with cookie cutters.

One of the stars on my tree:

A few days later, we painted our creations with Jacquard Lumiere paints, which have a beautiful shimmer to them. Despite using the same color palette, Ada and I had vastly different styles. She made about 8 of them, and picked who got each one. This pair went to her preschool teachers. I dug through my stash of scrap ribbon, trying to reuse already cut pieces, to thread through each one. Eventually I ran out of matching colors and dug into my still-on-the-spool ribbons, mostly on Ada’s.

Before giving them away, I put Ada’s name & the year on the back of hers, and just the year on the back of mine, then gave them a coat of varnish to protect them.
This is the one Ada gave me:

And this is the special one I made for Ada. She loves pink and hearts, so it’s a soft shimmery pink, and the back says To: Ada Love: Mama, 2025

Lovely gifts. I love when children make ornaments to give out. It brings back such sweet memories each year. I hope you kept a few for your tree too!
