Beach Towel for our Granddaughter

Since I wove a towel for our grandson, I thought I should make one for our granddaughter, his sister.

Her mom likes pastels so that’s what I chose to use. The warp is 8/2 cotton and the weft colours are 8/4 cotton. Finished size is 29” x 52”.

I wove it using double width weaving (in the bottom picture, you can slightly see the line where it was folded on the loom) On the one I made our grandson, the fold was where a colour change happened so it’s not visible.

Pretty sure she will. My hubby is delivering it this weekend so he’ll get to see firsthand what she thinks.

I wasn’t sure about them at first as they read pastel, which isn’t my favourite, but in the end, I’m happy with it.

Such a special gift! In my limited experience, handwoven towels last ages so she’ll get to grow up with this one!
