Beach towel for our grandson

Our grandson turned three in February and his other grandparents own a beach cottage which he visits lots with his family so I thought it would be fun to weave him a towel.

It’s made with 8/4 cotton and in double width weaving, meaning it’s woven in two connected layers and is twice as wide when open.

I was concerned it was too small for him, obviously I was wrong.

On the loom, you’re seeing half the width here, when it comes off, I unfold it to full size.

Here you can see the two layers, connected on one side. This is how it’s woven.

Glad to see you weaving again! It is a lovely blanket that he will use a lot!

Amazing. This kid is going to be spolied for regular ol’ terry towels when he realizes he’s had the best!
