Beware the Spiders-Halloween Spooktacular Entry 2025

I have participated in the Chunky House Halloween swap for years, dating back to…well, you know.

This year was spider-themed since I was webbed into creating the little friendly things.

Spooky and seemingly benign pumpkin patch and a witch brewing up a potion to maybe help the world, both guarded by spiders.

The tree is made from twine dipped in watered-down Elmer’s glue and lots of paint. It was messy and fun. The arched gate is lace and glue gun…and more paint. I used pastels and colored pencils for the pumpkins and, of course, beads and wire for the spider. Beware!

The witch is brewing up a cauldron (paper mache over an old ornament with a cord rim, filled with green tulle and iridescent beads. Egg carton rocks finish off her spider-guarded cave. The witch is pastel and colored pencils on fine sandpaper.

I was admiring the rocks and wondered if they were egg carton! I am also happy to be a recipient and will display mine along with the others I have collected over the years as well!

Thanks for sharing your spiders…I was eyeing those when I saw them in another swap. I do think maybe spiders are my good luck charm!
