A little therapy sewing, trying out a pajama shorts pattern from a blog…
They ended up a bit wide and had a strange flare that some shorts have on people with wider hips, so I elasticised the hem a bit. I think they turned out pretty cute, just in time for much warmer evenings.
I considered adding a pocket, but I fear that will just end in my shorts falling down as soon as I put something in the pocket.
I tried a new technique for the leg hem elastic, sewing it on with the casing instead of pushing it through afterward. Mixed results there, but I have some ideas for doing that better next time.
That lace is the last bit of a large batch of lace I dyed ages ago. I used to have a beautiful long patchwork skirt that had a lot of that lace on it. (I gave the skirt to a friend who promptly disappeared from my life with no explanation. Hopefully the skirt is still loved.) I’ve used it for some small projects along the way too. But I had just enough left for these shorts and maybe another small project.
