A quick project squeezed in between other tasks today. My mom sent me a picture of something similar, so I made her this set of “black thumb” plant stakes. This is extra ironic because she’s an amazing gardener, but hey - if that’s what she wants!

3mm birch plywood, laser cut, then sealed.

Which laser cutter do you have? I want one sooooo badly.
At home I have a full spectrum hobby laser (gen 2) that I found broken on Craigslist and fixed. Most incredible Craigslist score ever. At work I have a Muse and a full spectrum pro series.

I teach high school engineering and computer science. The cool tools are part of our Makerspace. But yes, I’m very lucky.

These are great. We have a wheelbarrow full of nursery pots that held now-deceased plants.
One more tag: “NOID”, orchid growers’ shorthand for No Identification, or “It wasn’t labeled, but I couldn’t resist it”.
