Blossoms Cake

Hi all. This is a practice cake, because I have a habit of purchasing icing tutorials and then letting them languish, so I’m trying to do better. I’m pretty happy with it-it’s an 8 inch single layer of vanilla cake with all of my practice flowers piled on top. Tutorial was “Beautiful Blossoms” by Leslie Vigil (from whom I love to learn). :slightly_smiling_face:

This is beautiful!
Also, good job on following through and doing a tutorial you purchased, and not just let it sit there
My mom used to do a bit of cake decorating, years ago, and I really want to try it myself at some point.

Your flowers are so pretty and I also love the colors of the icing. They look like real flowers!

I thought this was going to be a watercolor project! Just wow!

I don’t know that I have ever seen cake decorations like this…so realistic and not your typical round rose icing blob! Such lovely colors and details!

They certainly are beautiful blossoms. You’re a professional! I like how soft they look and not stiff and hard. Looks like the icing was soft. Makes them look more realistic, like they have fallen and settled there.

I learned a little cake decorating in home ec and fell in love. I’ve dabbled over the years. I bought 2 sets of decorating tips and supplies during the holidays. Looking forward to using them regularly. Congrats on your feature!
