Christmas Craftalong

I started it in 2020! It’s currently in time-out because I think I made some mistakes (didn’t change my hook size when I was supposed to) and haven’t felt like dealing with it yet. If I’m lucky, I just need to block it. :crossed_fingers:

It’s sooooo pretty! But…what is it? It doesn’t matter. I want it. :grinning:

Edit: I scrolled back and answered my own question. Your blanket is just gorgeous.

Thank you! Yes, it’ll be a blanket.

These school holidays (starting in a few days) I will make a start and hopefully finish my ornament tree for my colleagues. I haven’t decided on an ornament pattern yet, but since it’s a new workplace I could really repeat one I’ve already done

I haven’t thought about my handmade gifts yet, but will definitely start brainstorming

Almost time for the challenge!!

When you post something, please add the amount of tickets you’re due for it, just to make my admin a bit easier.

I have decided I’m probably going to stitch a few ornaments first, as they’re portable and I’ll be travelling next weekend. The fabric squares are 6x6" - ish, I only need about four or five colours, so it can all go into a small zip pouch and it will make a perfect hotel room craft. One of them is a duplicate - the pattern requires fabric in an unusual colour (green). I happened to have a little bit of that exact colour, big enough for three ornaments, so I stitched one last year and I’ll stitch two more this year. It’s a fun pattern so lots of people will like it. Might be a great gift for my siblings.

This fits my planning so good! I made a challenge with my mum this year. We are crafting something each month, and some months has just “Use the good stuff”, while other is more specific. For july I have on my list to make three xmas gifts! So I will try to do just that.
Now I just need to figure out what to make! But it will be fun to check in here and see what everyone is doing!

I am trying to make a purse from a sow’s ear over here. I am committed to using up my stash, so I will figure it out!

Christmas in July has started for me!

I spent some time this morning pouring over my pinterest saves for Christmas gift ideas and such. I lost a whole week of knitting to wrangling an energetic and bored 5 year old only child while battling a stomach bug that knocked me back so that june goal to finish the ongoing sock WiP is still in the way. I might get to finish more tonight, the hubs is working a double so he won’t be back until tomorrow morning. I could knit an all-nighter! Wooooo! Par-tayyyy.

I knew I was forgetting something when I was packing for my overnight trip, but I couldn’t remember what. But it’s this :frowning: no hotel Christmas stitching for me. Luckily I’ll be home on Sunday so I’ll only have to deal with craft cravings for two days. I’m stitching them on a dark evenweave and that’s honestly not the right fabric. It looks nice but it’s difficult to stitch. Dark aida is much easier because you can feel where the needle needs to go.

These are really cool! Did you use an embroidery machine?

I’ve done very little Christmas crafting, even though I’m hosting the challenge. I’ve just been really busy. But today is excellent Christmas crafting weather. It’s cold, overcast and rainy. Mr. Imma is in bed with a cold and I’m downstairs with a cup of tea and some cross stitch. And wearing a hoodie because it’s too cold for jeans and a t-shirt

I cannot express how jealous I am right now of your “sweater weather” as I practically swim through my livingroom’s humidity lol. (I am not, however, jealous of Mr Imma’s cold. Hope he feels better soon!)

“Swim through my living room’s humidity”:smile: That is the only way I will describe humid weather from now on.

I sorted a bazillion buttons, taped them to keep them together, and now I am making vintage button flowers.

I have a request if anyone is interested. I would REALLY love an old fashioned cross stitch sign that says “Come Back With a Warrant” for my police detective sister. Something like this Etsy pattern
Anyone up for a personal swap?
