Cicada Necklace

I made this cicada Necklace for @Rlynn for the recent Santa sack swap.

I don’t usually make jewelry that requires this many steps, but I’ve had Rlynn as a partner before and I know she likes jewelry so I wanted to give it a go!
I’m pleased with how it turned out. The subtlety of the colors should match with a variety of outfits. :purple_heart:

Here is a pic of Rlynn with the necklace :blush:

She styled it so cutely with her blouse.

The only WIP picture I have of this one. I am planning the head placement.

I like how there is a lot going on, but the colors make it subtle and neutral.

I love this necklace! It looks like a typical necklace until you get to the cicada…my favorite part! It looks terrific against the gray top and I am sure it is a stand out with lots of colors!

Unusual, fun, and well made…great job, @Manders !

This is very cool!
Can I ask where you got the cicada charm from?

@TheMistressT I was going for something like that. Glad someone else agrees!

@AIMR Thank you. :purple_heart: When I saw the cicada pendant I knew it would be great for Rlynn.

@thanate thank you. I got it from one of the major US craft stores. Either JoAnn’s, Michaels, or Hobby Lobby.

I love how chunky but simple it is and elegant but slightly whimsical with the cicada. What a gorgeous piece of art! Your composition is so spot on too.

This is gorgeous and so unique! I really love the cicada!

Beautiful composition.

I hadn’t seen a bead design board before; that looks so useful for figuring out where things will go!

Thank you!

The head design board was really helpful. It’s not actually necessary to make the necklace but I would’ve struggled more without. Very helpful tool.
