I think I’m up to 69 masks now. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Very cute tiny things! And those are some fun masks!

I had some fun and work cute out for me with my project this week! I decided to try making my first knit fabric clothes! I had made a pair of pj pants out of woven that aren’t great but turned out pretty good. But this week I pull out the curved hem tank pattern from Ellie and Mac and got to work. I’m very happy with how it turned out.

My husband’s company ordered masks for their employees back in February, but they haven’t shown up. Our state is now requiring businesses to provide masks for their employees (it’s manufacturing, so social distancing is easy enough already), so the president (my BIL) asked if I could make some. My SIL and another employee’s wife are also making masks. It looks like masks are going to be ‘normal’ for a while, so I’ll be making more to make sure my family has what they need.

Cool things everyone! Great top, the miniatures are amazing, and, wow!! So many masks!

I’ve been playing with my watercolours recently.

Love the note cards…you always do nice cards, @Bunny1kenobi!

@tendstowardschaos I made the “mistake” of posting on my FB page that I made some masks for my family…now all of my friends are requesting them. I don’t mind because I want them all to be safe, but I am taking a break. You are awesome to jump in and help…my boss paid me to make a few for his family and our employees…I used the money to get elastic shipped. Everyone is trying to do what they can…awesome!

@jemimah I love your watercolors…I got a brand new set of colors and hope to do more art this year…I retired so I could go to the beach and paint…guess that will be a bit in the future…

@poetrylover828 Your top did turn out really cute! Did you like sewing with the knits? Are you planning to do more?

I’ll look forward to seeing them when you do get time. It will happen! :art:

This was a thicker knit and wasn’t very slippery. So that made it nice to sew. It was different but not bad. I will keep trying to sew clothes and using knits (I keep buying custom fabrics on knit bases so either interface or make clothes).

Are you buying from Spoonflower? I want to try their knits…I have only ordered the prima cotton or linen…so many of the prints are gorgeous…I was just not sure how they would be on knits.

I buy from various custom fabric groups on facebook. Backstitch has a lot of Disney. Moonbeam textiles and Twisted Needle Textiles both will do fandom and other cool things. Moonbeam ran a cool pride line a couple months ago.

There is a wait time because after their payment window closes they send the orders to their printers and then wait for it to get to them. At which point they cut and then ship. Most places seem to have 8-12 weeks for expected shipping from the time a round closes.

I made lots of plans to do things, but basically did not do things… or even really come here and talk either, oops. Such are pandemic times (and myself, a serial procrastinator).

I did, however, have sewn face masks on my list of ideas and I made a pair for grocery shopping. Cute fabrics since my nice tightly-woven quilting fabrics are all cute.

@psyche Those masks look amazing! I love your fabric choices.

Time for a project dump of my own.

Like most everyone I’ve made a lot of masks, although I didn’t get pictures of all of them. I think I managed about 15-20, and I’m about ready to dive in for another batch.

I also knit up some really basic blankets for my foster kitty. She went on to her forever home this weekend, so I sent one with her and kept the other for the next foster.

So even though I’m not a huge fan of making masks a couple of friends have asked for some. Those who are making hundreds of masks amaze me.

So while I might not enjoy making the covid masks I did like making this plague mask . I found the pattern on suntree a-ok tumblr. It was actually pretty fun and surprisingly quick to make. I will definitely make some more (one of my friends wants one).
