My fave project this season:

Adventure Club

Made a pillow fort for the dog. She did not appreciate it.

Pick up a piece of litter:
The neighbor’s discarded, water-logged newspaper in the middle of the road is a bit big for litter, but still needed help into the recycle bin.

I’m home trying to squeeze in a few more projects! They’ll trickle in throughout the afternoon :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Prompt: July- Fun & Games

Team: Cabin Stargazers

Project Name: More Map Sketchbooks

Project Link: More Map Sketchbooks

Brief Description: Map skills are usually something you learn at camp, so I have 29 more sketchbooks/journals to add to the basket on my desk at school. These were all made from one map that was found in a closet and destined for the dumpster. I used the entire map to make 3 different sizes- 8.5 X 5 1/2 inches, 6 X 5 1/2 inches, 4 1/4 X 4 1/2.

Make a blanket/pillow fort :heavy_check_mark:

Perfect for an afternoon of reading.

Make and fly a paper plane :heavy_check_mark:

My husband and I were going to have a contest, but we didn’t get around to it, which was probably for the better since it turns out my paper airplane skills are not as magnificent as I remembered, lol.

Make a shadow animal :heavy_check_mark:

I’m not sure what kind of animal this is, but it looks like it’d be the bad guy of the story.

Play a game of any kind :heavy_check_mark:

I like to play Pips because I feel smart when I complete a puzzle quickly.

Write down three things you are grateful for :heavy_check_mark:

I am very grateful for these three things.

Complete a random act of craftiness :heavy_check_mark:

These tags will be attached to the 3rd Quarter Quiltalong prizes.

#4- Make and fly a paper airplane

Can you see it nose down, stuck in the grass?

#12- Complete a random act of craftiness

I’m going to count my Map Sketchbooks for this.

My sewing machine doesn’t seem to want to sew fabric right now…even though I just stitched all of the sketchbooks and sewed in 6 zippers. No more sewing today, it seems!

I didn’t make as many things as I had hoped I would, but my cross-stitched wee Highland coo was my favorite!

I was inspired by a photo of a line of zebras in the desert.

ADVENTURE CLUB:
Make and give away a friendship bracelet :heavy_check_mark:

I made this for my husband. He’s not a bracelet-wearing type of guy, but he is a ‘has a lot of keys’ type of guy, so I made this to go on one of his key rings (and hopefully it will help me identify what those keys go to).

And that concludes all of my Adventure Club adventures!

So, I’m a little embarrassed… I haven’t had the internet at home for a while (I have been using my phone for all things- good thing I have an unlimited data plan!), but at some point, using my computer, I had started typing out comments on everyone’s projects. But, because it wasn’t connected to the internet, I didn’t post them at the time. I borrowed a hotspot from school and just opened my computer to see the document with the comments. It’s only through July, but I’ll post them now, and come back soon to comment more (because this season’s projects were spectacular!).

@bluebird- I love your cross-stitch heart and how you kept it uncomplicated! Nice and neat stitching, too.

@storerboughtcreation- I’m impressed by how much you squeezed in on your cross-stitch heart, although, based upon your past cross-stitch projects, I’m not surprised. I really like your sunflower wreath and it’s reminding me that I need to spruce up the one I have so I can hang it on the door. It’s a bit faded!

@saintcady- The Renn Faire staff you made for your husband is so cool! I love the moon shaped stone- where did you find that? And, because yours were so awesome, I went right out and bought beads and a crochet version of the geodes, but I haven’t made them, yet. But, crochet club has started up at school, so I might have some time to work on one during that. I can’t imaging how long it took you to make that chainmaille shirt. I know there are some shortcuts to making the links, but putting them together must take forever! I like how you turned your laser cut pieces into flowers and then magnets. So cheery! And, how did you make your starter spellbooks? Did you start with pre-made notebooks and embellish them? How fun it would be to be given one at the Renn Faire! And, all o your Renn Faire baubles are awesome! I love that you fully embrace the Renn Faire scene- it makes it so much more fun! And, fried shrimp? Yum! I haven’t made fried food at home, so I admire your courage! But, your cupcakes? Delicious looking and adorable!

@Tapestry- I adore your cockatoo painting- using the painted pages for the feathers is just brilliant, and the little twinkle in the eye is perfection! I also really love your squirrel painting! We have a lot of gray squirrel bullies around here, but yours looks much sweeter! Your mushroom portal is so magical looking! I don’t know that I’d pass through it, but it would be cool to stumble across it! And, as a coworker would say, your otter notecards are “totes adorbs!” I have never worked on yupo paper before, but the colors are so vibrant that I might have to give it a try! Your Cauldron Minder artwork is perfectly spooky. I love the effect that you got with the steam rising! Your postcard project is really fun- what a great way to try out new techniques! And, speaking of new techniques, your Heart of Spring is outstanding! I love how you gave it so much texture!

@Mountains_and_Clouds- The campfire and the moon are my favorite things about camping (plus sleeping in a cozy tent), so I love that your cross-stitched heart included them. Your ocarinas are adorable! I have one that is a turtle, but I never learned how to play it. Now, I want to find it… And, I might need to make a crochet stegosaurus in crochet club, too. How totally cute! I also like how you painted the postcard- I didn’t even think to try that! And, what a great idea to create a sash for all of your nerd games pins! I really like your gouache cats- they have such a fun vibe and they’d look great hanging all together! And, what is it about granny square chickens that is just so adorable? I love chicken crafts in general, but those crocheted chickens are the best! Your crocheted Cthulhu is adorable and thanks for the insight into the pattern book- I honestly don’t know if I ever bought it, but if it’s in my library, I’m glad to know what I’m in for! I really love your monarch butterfly bowls! I bet they were the first to get snapped up at the empty bowls fundraiser (followed by your cat bowls!).

@gozer- What a great idea to repair your cat tower. Much better than adding it to a landfill and then paying for a new one! I love your Curious Cat painting- you definitely captured the look (plus the companion jackalope is lovely!). I love your flag pin holder, too! You have so many pins- I’m impressed! And, I feel like I already complimented your Stella Boo! Quilt, but it’s worth saying again- it’s wonderful! I also really love how you made your arts & crafts club heart- such a serene little scene!

@LindyBlues- I love your little summer scene in your embroidered heart, especially the little flower!

@LovelyMiss- Your Rude Dog shirts are hilarious, and very well executed! I haven’t tried sublimation, yet, but I have a couple of baby shirts and sublimation sheets I want to play around with. And, what a neat idea to add beads to your cross-stitch heart!

@Bunny1kenobi- I love all of your family ATCs and the way you portray your family’s adventures! What a clever idea to attach little lip balms to little lanyard clips like that- I’d never lose mine if I did that! Your Night Sky ornament calls to mind another of my favorite things from camping- stargazing- and it has the colors of “Starry Night” so there are 2 reasons why I love it! And, thanks for creating such fabulous badges for the Summer Games! I just have to figure out the best way to “claim” them!

@megwell- I like how you stitched up your initial in the heart! And, because you didn’t use any cross stitch, you inspired me to use other stitches in mine. And, I like how you redid that journal! I keep a copy of our science notebook every year, and I’m pretty bored of the black speckled ones I always use. I might have to decorate the next one! And, as someone else who isn’t really a drawer, I used to love doing those grid drawings! Somehow, focusing on only one little block at a time made it more manageable!

@QueenHobo- I really like your take on the craft club heart! The embroidered rose is wonderful!

@AudiobookLover- I really like how your embellished your shirt with the little touches of embroidery- I like how they peek out in certain places! And, I love your take on the arts and crafts club heart! I love the sparkly background and the stitch pattern you used!

@BatsAndBrownies- How sweet to make your adorable panda a sunflower hat! So cute!

@Tanath- I love the idea of tracking projects in a journal instead of the online document that I currently use. Sadly, I know I wouldn’t keep up with a handwritten version! And, I like your crafts bag charm and how it features a variety a crafts!

@Smeddley- That sucks that your craft store “experience” was not great, but your painted bag came out great, in spite of it! I know someone who would 100% appreciate a bag with that sentiment on it! I love your little crocheted ghostie and I hope your friend loves it, too!
