Started working on some Valentines for family members.

Yes….doesn’t look like much yet.

No pic, but I found a thing I could do in my exhausted condition! I fussed around a bit with something in Photoshop, then uploaded the result into Cricut Design Space for a “label” I’m going to put on our trash can. Why? Well, because our trash is collected about a mile from the house where about 15 from the neighborhood sit on trash day. Everyone marks theirs, because they all look the same and if you don’t someone will eventually grab the wrong one. AND without warning, the trash collection company has been replacing old cans. This happened to us a couple weeks ago and I haven’t yet marked ours. This weekend!

@photojenn, I just saw a video on Pinterest yesterday that featured metallic watercolors, they were so shimmery!

@TheMistressT, there are some days that digital projects are definitely the way to go. It sounds like you might end up with the fanciest trash can out there (I’m imagining everyone else using Sharpies to put their info on the trash cans, but I don’t know maybe you live in a neighborhood full of crafters and artists…)!

Thank you! I used masking fluid. It was so annoying to use I actually threw out the rest of the bottle (I had persevered a few times and ruined a couple of things). I’ve got a different brand tucked away somewhere that I need to try out, because masking fluid does make some cool effects!

My thing a day is sitting here during conference hours working on matting and bagging student art for our art show. It’s a huge deal because they are creating art about the county they live in using photo references. K-6. It’s the first one!

So, it’s not my art, but it represents me via my job, and I am cutting and gluing . So, dang it, I’m counting it! Hehe.

A few people use it as an opportunity to put (divisive) political stickers on their cans, other write their name in sharpie on a piece of duct tape, etc. I had a piece of galaxy duct tape on ours. And as I am typing this I am realizing that my idea might not be something that TheMisterT is into… hmmmmm.

I’ve got some pebeo masking fluid in my cart, I’ve heard it’s the one to get (not sure if it’s available there). It’s colored so you can actually see where you put it down vs the white masking fluid I have now.

Thanks Jenn! I’ll see what the other one I’ve got is …. when I find it! That might be the one. Will be good to test it.

My thing for today is … a piece of scratched up plastic!

I’ll be making another thing with it tomorrow!

Skating in just under the wire, whew! Room revamp completed. A total rearrange including Very Bright lighting, wall mounted power strip, and a Karen Brown ironing board/storage unit on wheels. Ok, that still needs batting & a cover but the construction is completed & I’m so happy about that.

So much work! Now to sew…

It all looks so nice and organized! Did Edel make the scrappy quilt on the chair in the back? I love the pop of color it adds to the room!

Yup, she sure did. Hand delivered even! It’s cold in the basement, I brought it down from our room to warm me up when I sit & stitch.

I love everything about this .

It looks so organized, and I love how you utilized the walls for storage areas without making them too bulky.

@jemimah This is so cool and PRETTY. This is the true mark of an artist. Clever, creative, and beautiful.

That looks so functional! That giant, raised cutting station looks so much better than my low one. Enjoy your new space!

I keep staring at your trees, I really love the movement in the leaves. Looking forward to seeing the next step!

A raised cutting station can make all the difference! I was lucky enough that my employer paid for a big desk that can be moved up and down. On Friday afternoon I put away my work laptop and there’s the crafting space! Having to work there during the week is also a great motivation not to let it get too messy.

I’ll probably not get too much done tomorrow because we’re going on a visit out of town, but hopefully I’ll get to do a lot tonight. Hopefully I can get some sewing done.

Day 1 - I had a few more partially finished motifs than I thought I did, so I finished 3:

(This is the back end of the hippo - just the back legs were done before.)

February 1st. built a saddle holder! In miniature, for a cowboy shrine.
2nd. Broke the saddle holder. Collected more things to go with it.
Also gave away 7 big bags of fabric to my neighbor who wants to make quilts
3rd. Considered alternate materials at 3am, when I had planned to be sleeping.
later, woodgrained and painted holder, antiqued saddle, horses, and horseshoe, added a blanket, trimmed base with vegan carved leather. I should take pix…
4th. Finished saddle project.
5th. Photographed saddle project AND put away the leftovers!

More pix at Back in the saddle again
6th. Made enchiladas for tomorrow’s games get together.
7th. Made queso for the first time!
8th. Added more sewing supply embellishments to the sewing shrine I did a while ago. Not sure I like it.
9th. Went to Gem Show and thought about crafting stuff. Got some more domes/cloches at Dollar Tree.
10th. Made lasagne
11th. Hosted super bowl party. Hard to craft with a bunch of people yelling at the tv.
12th. Made spice cupcakes to use as individual “king cakes” for a Mardi Gras party. I used the basic Wacky Cake recipe, but left out the cocoa powder and added 3/4 tsp each of ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
13th made glaze and decorated cupcakes with purple, green, and gold sugar. They all disappeared fast!
Added rhinestone covered sticks and other embellishments to a pair of purchased masks. A dozen people had their pictures taken in the masks.
14th cut up veggies and invented a new dip: mayonnaise, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, dill, chili, and black pepper.**

18th. Got out two fabrics and pattern for a blouse. Auditioned at least six different fabrics for piping, chose light aqua.
Dug up old version of the blouse, corrected the shoulder line, transferred alteration to pattern.
19th. Drafted new neckline pattern because I threw away the previous one in a fit of cleaning.
20th. Cut out blouse, made about 15 yards of bias binding, and turned six yards into piping. Cards got cancelled tomorrow, so I should have a new blouse by the end of the day!
21st. Got well into the construction, but didn’t finish. Took a nap instead.
22nd. Dithered around a bit with it.
23rd. Finished!
24th. Putting together fabrics for the next blouse; a blueberry print, 2 green and 1 navy blenders, solid navy, and a different blueberry print. Which will make the cut?
25th.
26th. 3D printed nametags for hubby’s meetup group.
