woohoo!! ready to get my stalk on!!
I have been stalking on my lunch break and I already have an extra planned out! It’s something that will be perfect for my partner and not something I’d usually make at all.
Ohhh! Exciting! Everyone should have their partner’s info.
I think I’m having way too much fun planning and crafting for this one!! So much in the works and 500 ideas in my head that need to be trimmed down LOL
Check in time!
It’s an easy one. Has everyone checked in with their partners?
Yep! @mel messaged me yesterday!
I’m still gathering ideas, but I think I’m going to make _______. Or maybe a _______.
how did you know that _____ was my favourite??!! i can’t wait!!
I haven’t started yet but I have a solid idea. I am currently crafting for another swap as the muse had landed there first. I anticipate starting this one within the next week though.
My supplies arrived today & I’ve already finished a small extra. I hope the plan I’ve made for the main thing will work out!
Check in time! This week’s check in question is…
What is your favorite indoor/outdoor plant? It could be one in your backyard or one that you have been wanting for year.
My African violets are my favorite indoor plant. I have had one for almost 15 years! Also, my orchid. I bought one for myself as a birthday present maybe 5-6 years ago and the blooms keep coming and it last forever.
My favorite outdoor plant is my corpse lilly/flower. It is stinky for about a week and then it dies. I love to think of it as a man eating plant from the Addams family or little shop of horrors. FEED ME SEYMOR!
lol,I love this. For an assignment in an illustration class we were to draw a horror movie theme in the style of a famous illustrator. I drew Audrey II (from Little Shop) in the style of Mary Engelbreit. lol
My favorite plant (I have so many) … I am going I need to go general on this one and say evergreen trees. They always remind me of home in the PNW.
When you told me about the corpse flower Audry II came to mind they always remind me of LSH!!
Not sure I have a favorite indoor plant I love too many of them. I have a few varieties of orchids, a couple varieties of peace lilies, I do love my hope plant and monsteras, I have a FLI named Fred we have a love hate relationship! I have an umbrella plant a coworker left so I named it after her and stole it from the office when the office mates neglected her LOL I was like you’re going to kill Evelyn…they were like what? She left!
Outdoors well our house was a foreclosure and the landscaping was neglected for about 20 years. Over the past 2 years and now we have been working on deforesting what is the back yard (not kidding we have even called the DEC in on things and we only have an acre) So there’s not much out there. But, a few areas I have started things. Before selling my last home I took cuttings of the huge Japanese Viburims and planted them here, they are still small but doing well. I di inherit some peonies with the property I transplanted and LOVE them I have always had peonies but couldn’t really uproot landscaping like that with the sale lol
As a side African violets were on sale 2-$5 so the kids talked me into them. UGH I historically cannot grow them!!!
I have really enjoyed my Clematis. I was really afraid to cut it down to the roots, but I did that last year, and it has come back plentiful this year. I can’t wait for it to bloom again!
My favourite plant that I own is my orchid. I inherited it from my grandma. She always had orchids. This one not only reminds me of her but it’s also beautiful:
I live close to a neighbourhood that was built in the late 19th century. Back then it was the first development outside of the medieval city walls (that are now completely gone). The local rich people finally had space to build properties with big gardens, and more than a century later those gardens are full of mature trees, large rhododendrons, shrub roses and peonies. It’s an absolute joy to walk there in the late spring or early summer. I’m a big fan of “old fashioned” flowers like roses, primroses, violets, lavender etc.
I have a mother of millions clipping that my friend mailed to me and am now trying to grow into a real plant. It’s slow going but I hope to have something to show for it one day!
How exciting! I like to save some of the poor souls from clearance and a local store will place all the almost dead ones out back for free. Sometimes they survive, sometimes not! But, its kind of exciting trying
my favourite indoor plant is our purple queen bougainvillea - we’ve had this thing since 1999 i think and it was huge then. it doesnt bloom very often, but this house we’re in has low light and i enjoy the thorny greenery, so there’s that.
outside is definitely the clematis. surprisingly himself has managed to leave it be, on the threat of bodily harm. every time i plant something, husbeast tends to think its a “weed” and out it comes (i’ve stopped planting bleeding hearts because of this (he’s yanked at least three or four different ones over the years) and even now, i only plant perennials if i can get a chunk from a friend.)
Check in! How is everyone doing? This week’s question:
What is your number one gardening/indoor plant tip?
For indoor plants-I am a big fan of water once a week and forget it. Never baby them. LOL! My African violets have lived for almost 17 years and all I do is water it once a week, maybe every other week in the winter. Same with my orchid. Water, a little sun and forget it.
I was going to say that about watering… So many die from too much… Just forget-about-it!
Just forget it! My husband is always worried about me overwatering. Just forget those things exists! Water and forget it! I should make an informercial.
