What movie have you seen recently that you would recommend and why?
We don’t have any streaming services, and haven’t actually been to a theater in over a year now, thanks Covid, so my movie comes from our dvd/blu ray vault.
“We Bought A Zoo.” I love seeing Matt Damon play a slightly different role for him. I like seeing Scarlett Johansson playing a role outside of action movies. The little girl is so cute, and I just really love the whole theme of the based-off real life movie. The book, however, was very technical and not much fun for me to read.
I really loved Hunt for the Wilderpeople, which I saw on Netflix, but probably exists elsewhere. It is this great story about a foster kid and his reluctant guardian. It’s hilarious and sweet and the landscape (New Zealand) is beautiful.
I watched Coherence on Hulu. Psychological thriller. Not gory just a head trip. A dinner party goes askew and gets really weird.
The jury is out for me but the fact I’m still thinking about it means something.
Hmm well…I am the VP/Treasurer of a local fiber arts guild and one of my responsibilities is teaching so that members get a good experience from the guild. I teach spinning, knitting, crocheting and advanced techniques in all.
For work I am a project manager and its kind of the field where you find there’s a personality to all PMs. So if I could I’d teach organizing. Its really what I do for a living, but, I love decluttering and organizing spaces.
I think the last movie we watched was Enola Holmes (with the girl who plays Eleven from Stranger Things) and it was fantastic!
I recently just watched Fate/The Winx Saga on Netflix in a whim. (A show, not a movie) It’s a bit cheesy and geared toward teens probably but it was lovely to craft during the past week!
can’t remember the last movie i watched, but we’re currently watching “spycraft” on netflix, which is pretty interesting. the episode on technological warfare, etc. really makes me want to put my tinfoil hat on and throw away my devices.
Definitely temperature never falling below 100 degrees - I love a bit a snow on the odd occasion, by I hate to be cold for long!
I think I use emojis far too often
They would have to introduce something new for me to be able to participate - fastest crocheting or reading maybe?
Home economics - specifically baking
Pizza - so many different topping options
Have not watched many films recently, except rewatching all the Star Wars, but binged season two of Discovery of Witches (having re-binged season one first) and loved it

If you have pets, what are their names and why did you choose them? If you don’t have pets, what would kind would you have and what would their names be?
Our dog Mia passed away last year. We rescued her from the Humane Society where they were calling her Mia. I got the impression she “wasn’t very smart,” so since I didn’t hate the name, we just kept calling her that.
Our cat Zazzles showed up at our back door when my son was in pre-school. I fed her outside for a while and she stuck around. I named her Zazzles, because she’s Zazzy! (Shout out to a Big Bang Theory Episode – Season 4 Episode 3 – Thanks Google.)
Before we had either Mia or Zazzles, our neighbor brought us a dog that was a stray (we live in the country) and he thought it was a lab. He was actually a hound mix. The dog showed up around Christmas, so I wanted a Christmas themed name without shouting Christmas, so we named him Dasher. He was not a good fit for our family, especially after biting my son when he was about 3 and needed 13 stitches. He was lucky his eyes were missed!
We have a Puggle named Reggie. I was looking online for a cat to adopt and accidently filtered the results by dog instead of cat. There on the first page was a Puggle! Which I’ve always wanted. His previous owner (who was relocating to India) had named him Rover. I couldn’t have a dog named Rover. Lol. We changed it to Reggie because we liked it and had enough nickname choices. (Reggers, Register, Reginold, Reggie Veggie, it goes on…).
We also have a cat named Cheetos. He was three when we adopted him and was already named Cheetos. It’s my daughter’s cat and she liked the name so she kept it.
We also have a large aquarium but none of the fish are named. And a small tank that has shrimp in it. None of them are named either.
We haven’t got any pets Unfortunately hubby, I and also our little boy are allergic to animal hair, especially cat hair. According to our doctor the only animal that we could live with is a horse Well, that’s not an option since we live in an apartment building. Although my daughter would be thrilled about a horse in our backyard. Nevertheless we love pets. When I was a child I had guinea pigs and I remember that we had birds, too. I actually don’t know if feathers count as animal hair, so maybe that would be an option. All we need is a bigger apartmant nonetheless.
we have a dog, connor (that’s the name he came with), who is a terrier mix (manchester and jack russell, or so the claim is). the husbeast and girls picked him up from the pound one summer while he was on holidays and i was at work. he almost didnt make the cut due to his hyper active nature in the cage (they were almost afraid to even take him for a “test walk”), but i like to think he was just super stoked because he KNEW he had found his family. he’s settled down a bit (he’ll be 7 this year), but still has a huge amount of energy and LOVES running like a maniac. its his mission in life. ha.
we also have our random cat, ginger (she’s orange, shocker), who showed up on the doorstep about 8-9 years ago and stuck around when the girls started feeding her. then it got cold and i let her in one night when i was annoyed at the husbeast and she hasn’t left yet. she’s a jerk, but i like her. definitely the eldest daughter’s cat. i still think she’s annoyed that the daughter is away at school.
We have chickens and an elderly duck outside. They all have names and are loved. Wild is a Jersey Giant chicken. My oldest hatched her in his bedroom last spring not long after schools closed for the semester. She lived in his room until I declared her too big and smelly to stay indoors.
Later in the spring he moved on to hatching button quail. We now have ten. This little guy just hatched this week. Quarter for size reference.
My sweet daughter asked for gerbils for Christmas. She names them Peanut butter and Nut. They often let them roam around on the couch while the kids watch TV and are frequently found in my 11 year old son’s jacket pocket.
We have a crazy Border Collie, formally named Hazel, but also responds to Hazelpuff, Puffling or Doodlepuff. She is currently in the good books, having been out with a new dog walker this morning, during which she behaved perfectly
To be fair to her she is generally quite well behaved, but does have a severe dislike of anyone coming down our drive and barks like crazy until she has either chased them off (usually somebody delivering something, which tends to result in them fleeing) or has been provided with treats, which most of our friends know to have easily accessible or hubby and/or I manage to persuade her that the world is not ending because someone happened to visit the house!
We have two cats. Both are SPCA rescues, but adopted at separate times.
The oldest is Mayhem, he lived with us for a couple of days and had come with the name Silverado which we knew we were changing, just trying to decide on what. Mayhem seemed most appropriate as even at almost 4 years old he is still Mayhem, he is also deaf so he can’t hear when he gets in trouble. He is also a huge cat, not just fat, but tall, and strong.
Our youngest is Raury. She had been named Daisy, which did not suit her. Raury or Rauri is a common name in my genealogy so that is how her name came about. She is sweet, but loves to go in and out of bedrooms extremely early in the mornings which is annoying. We keep the doors closed as Mayhem clears everything off bureaus or any flat areas. She also has a Pom Pom for a tail, or a bob cat.
