Crochet Club Yarn Caddies

For the past few years, I have been making end of year gifts for the kids in my crochet (& knit…but nobody knits) club at school. This year the school nurse helped me to run it. We put together gift bags for the kids this year. She made them each a set of beaded yarn markers and a little kit of crochet tools. She also picked out a skein of yarn that she thought each of them would like. I made them each a yarn caddie and a Crochet Journal .

I bought the basic cut file on Etsy, and then I designed the logo (our school mascot is a hawk). I bought the hawk image and the crochet hook image on Etsy, too. I designed it using the software for my Silhouette. I bought some 1/8” birch plywood sheets and covered them with masking tape before my co-worker used her GlowForge to etch the design and cut them out. I bought the straps from 5 Below, and realized the night before I was giving them to the kids that they didn’t have a swivel. Fortunately, I had some handy!

The kids loved them and a couple of them started using them right away!

What a great gift for your club members, made all the better with all the customization.

Very thoughtful gifts! I bet they loved ‘em!

Thanks everyone! They did really like them! I wish I had put their names on the spindle part, but I wasn’t sure how many I needed.

What a creative gift idea, and so practical! The designs on the bottom look great. They will always remember you & their days in the crochet club.
