Embroidered Magic Mouse - Non-Paper ATC

For the Non-Paper/Cardboard ATC Swap, I embroidered a cute little magic mouse ATC!

I started out with a tracing/sketch based on a pin from my partner’s Pinterest:

Then I printed out a few copies, cut out pattern pieces, and dumped out my box of fabric scraps to find bits the right size for the different pieces.

For the ATC base, I cut out a 2.5" x 3.5" rectangle of felt. I put some green fabric in an embroidery hoop as a backing to make it easier to work on, then placed the felt base and fabric bits for the background:

I stitched down the background pieces with embroidery floss and trimmed them closer to the felt:

Then I laid out my pattern pieces to decide placement and started stitching them down:

I started stitching the magic with 2 strands each of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple:

Then I mixed strands of each color to fill in the spaces between them and stitched my username for the back:

Before cleaning up the edges, and adding the back:

The finished back (mostly to cover up my messy stitches ):

This was a lot of fun to work on!

WOW!! I love the rainbow magical ‘sparkles’ coming off the wand. The dual strands of the two colors in between individual colors was such a smart idea, as was your idea to do all of the stitching while using a hoop to stabilize everything. Everything about this is spectacular and so well executed!
