In the recent mini handmade book swap, I created a mini book of crafts. Included were a range of different crafts, a sample of each, and two or three lines about that craft.
One of the pages was this stumpwork sunflower, which I loved stitching…
When the book arrived, @magpie happened to mention that she wanted to take it out of the book and wear it. The comment bounced around in my brain for a couple of days, and I finally decided I needed to see if it was possible.
I little searching later, I decided that these were going to be the best option - small wooden frames. And I got stitching.
Well, the parcel arrived today, so I can share the outcome -
The diameter of the frame section is about 5cm, so with the petals is probably 7 to 8cm wide. I didn’t have any chain, so attached a ribbon, but this can easily be swapped out for a chain.
I know every crafter, whatever the medium you work in, only ever see the faults in a piece, but this is one piece I am so crazy proud of!
THIS IS GORGEOUS!
I adore the middle with the different colored french knots, but of course the petals are just brilliant too. You should be soooo proud of this amazing job.
I am thinking about adding a magnet to this to put it on the fridge so I can see it everyday. It’s in the craft space but that’s a busy place. It deserves highlighting!
