February Thing-A-Day 2026

I think this would be something that could be done all year. With paper or fabrics. A lot easier to commit to then trying to stitch something everyday into them. It is like a diary of what comes into your life daily.

Actually, I think that’s what the version that’s en vogue with journalers is. It hasn’t appealed to me as a long-term thing because I don’t really do the kind of daily/memory keeping journaling that that lends itself to, but it would totally be a low-key way to get into those.

Another book cased in today (no pics yet since it’s still in the press). I also started a shawl and got about 6 inches knit while ignoring the Super Bowl with family.

That made me laugh. I knocked out like 200 pages of a book while ignoring last year’s SB with family.

I’m just there for the snacks. Even the commercials have been pretty lackluster lately.

We watched a bit of the Puppy Bowl instead. It made my heart happy.

I played around on my sewing machine today. No pics because it’s for a swap.

Im still keeping up with the daily cats. These are super quick sketches, so no judging. Lol!
I bought some markers. Then realized they sucked on this paper.

You are going to have enough kitties to make a little book!

That’s the idea. I am trying to fill up one of those little 4x4 sketchbooks you can get from Michaels.

Cowl is done! I actually finished it last night but it had too much bulk for De so I took out a bunch of rows and redid the ribbing. We’ll see what his verdict is.

It looks very cosy!!

I almost finished topstitching my pinafore dress and put an invisible zipper in a skirt I started last summer. It’s finally almost done now. I tossed it aside when I had to rip out some stitches and again when I got to the zipper.

2/10–quilted a mini quilt made from a kit. I want to get the binding done tonight.

Someone is not happy that I need space to cut!

@AIMR He’s probably just mad there’s no yarn in it.

2/10: No real tidying today, but I did at least put away the stuff I got out while working on my swap project.

Today’s scrap brought to you by this morning’s oil change:

I’m bad at taking pictures of what I’m working on this year. Sorry!

  1. Book cover #1 made & cased in. Book #4 reprinted.
  2. Book cover #2 made & cased in. Diagonal Rib Shawl started.
  3. Boards cut for books #3 & #4. Spine cloth applied.
  4. HTV titles cut & applied to books #3 & #4.

I started out the weekend with this stack of text locks. It’s a little smaller now.
