Frida Kahlo Doll

My swap partner received, @MamaRhi , so I can post!

She has a floral wire skeleton so she is poseable. :blush:

So this was the starting point. I love this phase. :purple_heart:

Cutting the main body pieces.

Face embroidery. :purple_heart:

Frida’s clothes were a bit tricky. I made the designs for them myself. :face_with_spiral_eyes: I did get a wip for the rest of the top. It’s basically a skirt and a shirt. The tiny embroidery was really difficult as I freehanded it. I’m super proud of how it came out!

I originally intended to needle felt her hair, but what I thought was black was actually a dark smokey color that contrasted too much with the black felt. I like the new idea I came up with though. :blush:

So hoorah for my first doll of 2025!

She is just absolutely amazing and perfect and I love her! She now lives in my studio, waiting for me to put together my art history shrine.

@gozer I’m glad she’s recognizeable. :grin: I was worried the mustache would throw people off, but I think the stache is accurate. :grin:

@TheMistressT thank you. :blush:
