:sob: any suggestions for gold ink or paint pens? I keep finding -dull- gold (or shimmery but not bright gold). My 18k gold pen died. And my other gold pen that was as good, maybe better, gave me 1 test heart and a couple scratches then died. I just returned some that didn’t give the colors I wanted, and bought others to try (clearance so no returns. Also not good enough)

I could do something different, but I’m started to get into stubborn, do or die, mode.

So I’m stuck where I was a week ago needing a gold pen. Going to Hobby Lobby tomorrow. Or Michaels.

I think it’s really hard to find good metallic pens that work well and last, I haven’t found a great one (though others might have good advice on this).

In my experience gold metallic watercolour or gouache gives much better results, although you do have to paint it on with a brush. I use the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor Paint Pan - Set of 6, Starry Colors - which is a range of different golds. I think it’s really good (it might be available at Michaels or Hobby Lobby?)

Thanks! I’ll look into that. I briefly thought of getting gold paint, but thought pen would be easier.

Check out this gold foiling using an adhesive pen. https://youtu.be/xg_7oPVcYG8?si=0IrUybQD_EnpFiMV

It’s a new technique to me, but looks super easy. There are a number of different kinds of adhesive pen you can get, and you need deco foil, but you don’t need the actual branded stuff I got pens and foil from Amazon.

Wow, stamps are getting pricey! I did not have enough stamps at home so I went out and bought some. Cards will be ready to go out tomorrow instead.

My crafts are done, and the cards nearly there. I feel on track to send by the deadline.

I do this on purpose because I like using all the pretty stamps  I’m always thrilled to receive cards “with all the stamps” as well

Those are gorgeous! I’d be excited to use them as well. :compass:

I’m not sure if this would work for your purposes, but I’ve been using “metallic markers” for gold stuff and it has worked well for me. I purchased the ones I like best from Staples, an office supply store. The dollar store has fairly good ones as well, but I find they’re to wide for detailed work. The ones from Staples are angled and I find them easier to use for smaller stuff. The brand I have been using is “Staedtler.” They are alcohol-based. Metallic acrylics have also worked well for me.

I have one more extra small to complete before I send it all. I had it all done and somehow managed to misplaced one of the extra smalls. I bet I’m going to find it right after sending the replacement I’m working on :joy:

I’m almost done with mine - just some last minute font stuff. I’ll try to get them out tomorrow but it may be Friday. . .
Is there a gallery up?

I sent!

Also, I couldn’t help post a pic of the stamps I picked up since we were talking stamps recently.
So cute.

They look like a pin!

I saw those in the catalog! I don’t need regular stamps yet (I don’t. I don’t.), but those may be my next pick-up.

Someone is going to have to go to the Post Office now.

I made a quick stop on my way to work. There’s a tiny mailbox near a gas station and café in the middle of nowhere  So since I took the road through the forest I could drop off my cards this morning. Now we wait!
