Gilbert Rabbit - Spring is in the Air Challenge Entry

I have a new to me (I’ve worked here less than a year) coworker having their third child. Once I found out, I immediately knew I wanted to make her something. She still has a lot of baby stuff from her previous kids and said she didn’t really need anything, so I thought something more fun was in order. I pulled out my Pica Pau books and found this cute little bunny and figured it would be a cute baby gift and was nice and springy for the challenge.

The pattern calls for a pair of pants for Gilbert, but I figure that would be too much for a baby/small child, so I left those out. If she tells me that her little one still enjoys or they still have the rabbit, I’ll make a couple pair of the pants in different colors for a birthday gift .

He’s made using Premier Cotton Fair yarn.

He’s about 14” with his ears. Probably almost as big as the newborn, but I’m sure they’ll grow into it.
