Giraffe In A Bottle

For the Grab Bag swap, our letters this round are G and B. I waffled a lot on what to make. While on vacation, I had some free time and wandered into a craft bar where you can pick a project and make it. Nothing they had appealed. But then I spotted a wooden blank cut in the shape of a bottle. Kismet! So I made a giraffe in a bottle. I painted with their waterbased acrylics for a bit, then took my bottle back to the hotel to be finished at home with proper acrylics.

This was how it looked before I added regular acrylics:

Ah ha! I was wondering how a giraffe in a bottle came about… such a fun G & B! This is inspiring ideas for me to use my bottle and giraffe dies.

@TheMistressT - thanks! I bet card designs with a bottle motif would be super fun and cute. It makes me think of several themes that would be fun to explore.

Cool! The gradient sky and the trees are just beautiful, and the perfect backdrop for the little giraffe.

I love this!!!

I think the before and after both look amazing, too.

And I love the idea of a craft bar! Please tell me more if you can :slight_smile:

@Mountains_and_Clouds - thank you!

@LindyBlues - thank you! Craft bars are a thing that I’ve noticed cropping up more the last few years. Used to be you had places like Painting With A Twist that did paint-along nights and events or those paint your own ceramic places - all focused on one thing. Now there are quite a few businesses that offer multiple craft options: ceramics painting, glass fusion, candle making, wood burning, acrylic pouring, resin pouring, etc. all under one roof. In one case in Dallas there really is a bar attached so you can have drinks and make a leather wallet at the same time. The place I went was in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and called Hammer And Stain.

Ha! Is it a tiny giraffe or a giant bottle? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I like the subtle reflective stripes that make it look like rounded glass.
