Gnome Sculpture Diorama

I joined the recent sculpture swap and made this for my swap partner @EclecticDreamer. Unfortunately, I didn’t pack it well enough to survive the journey. I remade the male gnome and she was able to put the rest of the pieces back together. This was a fun one to make. Airdry clay for the sculpture and I used a fairy light from the dollar store, dried moss, and plastic leaves and flowers.

I’m sorry it didn’t survive shipping. It’s so cute!

Oh no, shipping can be so rough. I’ve taken to shaking my finished package vigorously to feel if anything rattles or moves, but sometimes an elephant just decides to sit on the package in transit (I assume) and it still arrives in pieces.

I love your idea to light up the moss. It’s such a cool diorama. Having the mushroom caps a bit tilted like that makes the scene more dynamic.

I’m hoping that she is able to put it back together. I sent her a photo of the finished diorama right after she received it. The male gnome was the only thing I had to redo and send again.

@Annchen the lights are suppose to mimic little fireflies. I’ve used the small lights from the dollar store in several of my swaps. The last one prior to this one was the Halloween Chunky Houses swap. I used it have stars in the sky outside the houses.

It was my fault since I didn’t pack it well. Next time, if I send a set/diorama type, I will pack the items separately and have instructions on how to put it together. It was fairly quick to do just the male gnome.

It looks truly magical and such a cute, original idea!
