Graffiti Style Christmas Tree Cards

I made these for the 2025 Christmas Card Swap. They’re bright and bold, and maybe not everyone’s style. I love them, though!

I painted the background papers and then embossed them.

I then fussy-painted all of the trees with white paint pens. I had to do about eight layers of white to get the needed opacity. I’d just do a coat here and there while I was sitting in the living room.

I also used paint pens to letter the insides. I cut the edges to have a ragged look on purpose. I thought it kind of complimented the style of the art.

I did some doodles on the envelopes, too.

Thanks for taking a look!

I love my card and the envelope was so cute. I wondered how you did the tree, it looks really cool. Thanks for sharing your process!

I love this style a lot! At first, I thought it was puffy paint, but now I can feel the embossing!

I kept the envelope to use in a journal. I bet the mailman liked it. He always asks where I am getting such lovely mail!

I LOVE these. I might have to file away this idea for a similar (scaleable) version for next year’s cards…

These are really nice!

These are so artsy! I love them. It looks like a lot of fun doing all the layers. I think it’s so funny that we live near each other and also like graffiti since it’s not super common. Do you think that has something to do with where we live somehow?

These are really charming and cheerful!

I think this is a great thing about receiving holiday cards - there are so many different styles and they (should?) represent the style of the sender in such a concise way. For me, part of the joy is looking over at the display of this year’s cards and seeing the variety.

These are cool! The colorful chaos in the background is pretty joyful, in my opinion.

I loved receiving one of these cards! Thank you so much for swapping.
