I had the sudden need to add a waist snatcher/cincher or ridding corset to my costume this year. I used the same fabric as my new hat and made it reversible with leftover black and gold curtain fabric from my Steampunk outfit of many years ago. I ran out of time so one side’s binding was hand-finished and then topstitched but the other side was quickly topstitched down and needs a bit of ripping and redoing, but the black side looked good! I used the pattern recommended by Shannon Makes and mostly followed her instructions using zip ties for the boning. I went down a size from my practice one and it was too small so I made my own busk-like front panel. The whole thing really added to the costume.
