I just received the loveliest happy mail from BeaG and bluebird! And on a grey autumn day, too - we had a cold snap yesterday and I’m feeling it!

The postcard from bluebird made me giggle - and I love Edward Gorey! And BeaG absolutely spoiled me! I especially love the bookmarks (my girlfriend is always yelling at me to not put books pages-down) and the little lamb sticker.

Thank you both so much!

In 10 days we can use the cheaper Christmas stamps again in my country. I’ve not been super active in this thread this year but I’ve made all sorts of festive cards this year and I’d like to send one to all Happy Mailers. If you’re new in this thread and you think I don’t have your address yet, feel free to send it to me! (Or wait until I reach out which will be this weekend or the next).

I had to pack and unpack my craft room over the past 12 months so I’ve come across a lot of UFOs, WIPs, and festive bits and bobs I saved, so all cards are different.

Belgium doesn’t understand the concept of Christmas stamps (at least, that is how it feels if you’re originally from The Netherlands). They are the same price or even more expensive than ordinary stamps.
I’ve ordered more stamps, since prices of stamps always go up on the first day of the year here in Belgium. Better have a big stash.

I have received so much happy mail over the last couple of years, I’ve also sent quite a bit but not as much as I received. This year has been a bit difficult with a house move, a death in the family, health and work issues, so I’ve cheered myself by making Christmas cards the whole year. I just put them in a shoebox and then I suddenly had a lot of them!

In November and December we have special, cheaper stamps that are nicely designed and can only be used in that period of the year. For heavier, international cards the price difference is more than €0,50 per card. That adds up quickly!

I also received Happy Mail while I was gone from home! Thanks, @endymion for a fun zine…my first ever! Thanks! Just wait for it to be shown in the Zine Swap–it is fantastic!

I also received from @curiousfae

She sent my username in a doodle, a lovely watercolor card, some teas, Japanese candy, and some things use in crafting! Thanks!

I received Happy Mail from @megwell
She sent me this cool collage postcard. Let me get a picture of it…

This would be amazing in the USA. I send almost 70 newsletters out in December to friends and (mostly) family. They are appreciated because I don’t see most of the people. Still, it’s a lot of stamps.

I’m glad at least a few people got them before Halloween was over. If not… save it for next year!

Yes, it’s a great idea. Stamps are getting more and more expensive, and Christmas stamps are no exception, but every little bit helps. Plus because they’re a bit of a novelty thing, a lot of people want to buy them every year, even if they still have stamps from last year left over. So the profit margin is a bit less but they probably sell a lot more.

This lady is designing them this year illustration – Linde Faas and based on the art on her website, I think they’re probably going to be really pretty.

I buy a lot of the stamps just to keep. I have a small notebook and treat them like stickers, not a formal stamp collection. I also save a lot of stamps I get in happy mail…they are miniature works of art!

I received a cool postcard from @bluebird at the weekend and a zine from @endymion - It is awesome, I have been admiring during my many work meetings this week. And it arrived on Nov 1st so not too far after Halloween!
